Discussion
The opening scene shows that Claudia has been fired from her job at Chicago art museum. Forty year old, single Claudia faces a lot of distressing news right before Thanksgiving holidays. She was sharing an intimate relation with her soon to be ex-boss, and out of expectations she gets fired from her job. She has agitations in visiting her family in Baltimore for Thanksgiving and fears the embarrassing situations she will have to face at the family reunion. However, she prepares for her visit and gets the drop at the airport by her teenage daughter, Kitt, who informs her mother about her Thanksgiving stay with her boyfriend over the weekend and start her intimate relationship for the first time.
After losing her job, making out with her ex-boss, and discovering the plans of her teenage daughter, Claudia is not feeling well at all and more devastatingly she fears to spend the holiday with her family. Claudia does not share a healthy attachment with her family, and this is one of the main reasons she is apprehensive in visiting the family for Thanksgiving holiday.
