Introduction

Family Guy, created by Seth MacFarlane, is an animated television series. It revolves around a dysfunctional family living in the imaginary town of Quahog in Rhode Island. The series is renowned for its repeated use of cutaway gags. It followed the cutting edge, impious and borderline obscene dialogue pattern of another television series called “The Simpsons”. Conversely, in its pursuit of the bizarre and the grotesque, this series went far beyond The Simpsons or any other prime time cartoon of its era (Matheson, 2001).
