The title of the topic is “The Effect of Social Media on Fashion Business”.

Purpose

The major purpose of this dissertation was to examine the effect of social media on Fashion Industry. There was also a need to assess the usefulness of Information Technology and Business Model for a fashion industry. It was important to see the relationship between four variables that included Social Media, Fashion Industry, Information Technology and Business Model. The significance of the study was quite high because it is addressed several variables in the study. The most important variable was the social media that has gained huge recognition over the past several years. One of the reasons was the application of social media in running an advertising campaign for any organization. The numbers of users using social media tools such as Facebook and Twitter have also increased rapidly over the past several years. The major tool that is used by the users is Facebook and people can see several advertisements placed on this social network. Though, it is very common to see these days that Facebook faces numerous controversies but still the overall numbers of users are increasing every day. The other important aspect in this topic is the importance of Fashion industry among different users. This industry is also getting a lot of success because of the heavy investment that is taking place by various investors. The only thing that is having a lot of value under such situation is the number of advertisements. The other factor because of which this research study is having a lot of value is to assess the role of Information Technology in Fashion Industry. In fact, the usage of social media tool is a part of Information Technology which is utilized in the Fashion Industry. There are several investors who realize that the application of Information Technology in Fashion Industry has become one of the fundamental needs of the organization. The last factor that is important as well for any organization is the usage of a particular business model. This is also one of the vital issues that need to be addressed by the firms for their services. The business model can vary considerably for most of the organizations and each one of them might have a different structure. A business model followed by a fashion industry might be different as compare to a food industry. Therefore, this was the overall purpose because of which the research study was conducted.
