Helen McCarter (Kimberly Elise) and her married man Charles (Steve Harris), an advocate, had it all: cash, achievement, and a fine home. In public they appeared to believe their inhabits were flawless, but it was all far from flawless behind shut doors. Helen is jobless and her married man wanders, having multiple affairs. On their 18th marriage celebration, Helen wakes up to find all of her possessions crammed in a U-Haul motor truck with Charles booting her out of the dwelling in the occurrence of his juvenile mistress - and mother of his two young children - Brenda (Lisa Marcos).
