The Centre for Family Support

Introduction

Centre for Family Support is a decentralized public body under the Ministry of Health of the Nation and is rector, within the field of health, in relation to the standardization and implementation of policies on disability and rehabilitation. Centre for Family Support is a decentralized agency under the Ministry of Health of the Nation and aims to promote the rehabilitation and integration of people with disabilities of all kind.

History

The Center for Family is located in 333 Seventh Avenue, at the 9th Floor. I have chosen this particular company to do my field work on, because many of my class mates are actually focusing on the youth for example on schools that have After-School programs that helps the youth in improving their daily academic performance. Therefore, I decided to focus on mentally disabled brothers and sisters that require our help to become better citizens. The Center for Family Support provides home care and residential services for children and adults with disabilities, and their families in New York City, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester counties New York State and the State of New Jersey.

The Centre for family Support (CFS) was created in 1985 under the name of National Permanent Commission for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled, under the then-named Ministry of Social Welfare and Public Health. The commission was formed by a group of outstanding professionals in the field, among which we cite the famous doctors of USA." The main objective of the Commission was the development and implementation of a program of rehabilitation and training throughout the country and the organization of the Centre for Family Support. The initiative was passed to declare March 23 as "National Day of Rehabilitation", coinciding with the day of the creation of the National Commission. The National Rehabilitation Service is designated as such, by Decree No. 1854 of 1969, to replace the National Commission as a self-governing body (www.cfsny.org).

During the passage of the various governments, the National Service of hierarchy and name changed several times, but never lost the spirit for which it was created and maintained, over the past fifty years, a clear action, promoting and facilitating the effective implementation and generation of services for people with disabilities.
