Abstract

The consumption of caffeine has increased drastically among teenagers of today. This caffeine is consumed in various forms such as tea, coffee, soft drinks, energy drinks etc. Not only has this resulted in an escalation of the number of various caffeine related emergencies but also the number of calls to poison control centers have increased. In addition, it has been seen that the consumption of caffeine by teenagers is rooted in the assumption that it has a positive impact on academic performance. The regression analysis revealed that there are multiple number of factors that can lead to high and low level of caffeine consumption. It has been seen that high level of caffeine consumption can lead to teenager academic testing performance improvement provided that this is not carried for a very long time. In the case of continual consumption for a very long time, there is likelihood that the child will develop other health issues.

The consumption of caffeinated drinks in the US alone has shot up to a multi-billion dollar market. The research examines the relationship between caffeine intake and academic testing performance.

Aims and Objectives

The aims of the study are given hereunder.

To understand the level of caffeine consumption in teenagers.

To find out the assumptions and perceptions of teenagers on the benefits of high level of caffeine consumption

To determine what are the predictors of high and low level of caffeine consumption.

To ascertain the relationship between high level of caffeine consumption and teenager academic testing performance.

Methodology

The small project on Teenager academic testing performance due to high levels of caffeine is an Ex post facto research. This means that the researcher will not change anything. Whatever is found in the research will be stated as it is. The small scale research on the local real estate agent's level of customer satisfaction is quantitative in nature.
