Introduction

The main purpose of this paper is to make discussion about Ted Turner. Since the late 80's, Ted Turner was known in Russia, perhaps more than in America. He was one of the first American tycoons who began to invest in the development of Russian television, and was married to American actress Jane Fonda, who enjoyed in our country is very popular.

Born in 1938 in Ohio, at the age of 24, Ted Turner inherited company boards of his father, valued at $ 1 million. In 1970, he bought a radio network and, ten years later, he created CNN the first news channel continuously. Robert Edward Turner was born on November 19, 1938 in Cincinnati (USA). He first married to Judy Nye, who had two children: Laura and Robert Edward Lee. For the second time he was with Jane Shirley Smith, who bore him three children: Rhett, Beau and Jennie, and since December 1991 he is with actress Jane Fonda. He trained at Georgia Military Academy and Brown University. In 1963, after his father committed suicide, he inherited a large family advertising business (Porter, 468). In 1970, he bought a small Atlanta television station, Channel 17, and six years later expanded its programming to the entire country to join the broadcast signal to cable systems via satellite. In the eighties he founded two successful cable television networks: CNN, the pioneer in broadcast news twenty-four hours a day (which gained worldwide notoriety in 1991 to have covered the Gulf War) and TNT, devoted primarily to the movies classic. In 1986 bought the entertainment division of Metro Goldwyn Mayer. On February 24, 2006, Ted Turner announced in May that will leave the board of Time Warner, after ten years with the company (Reese, 432). In January 2003, he had resigned as vice president. Ted Turner had always been a great entrepreneur and always received huge recognition. He was a great entrepreneur having sound knowledge and skills of leadership and business. These days there are many successful businessmen who are following skills and knowledge of Ted Turner. He also became the initiator of the food restaurants company named as Ted's Montana Grill. Ted Turner is also a chairman of Turner Enterprises Inc. This is a private company having an oversight of almost 2 million acres in 12 states. The company also has its businesses in Argentina (Richard, 456). The company serves the business interests, holdings and investments of Ted Turner. Ted Turner has the mission to manage the Turner Lands properly and make them an economically beneficial company. Turner had got success in a very short span of time. He got the success and accomplishments in a very short span of time, and got success in one after another project continuously. He always had a vision of becoming the number one. He worked with the determination, generosity, and the ambition of getting the best and reaching towards the highest position.
