Team building is an important and crucial part of any organization. The contribution of each member is essential for completing a task effectively. Belonging to a team, in the broadest sense, is an effect of feeling part of a thing greater than yourself. It has many to perform with your appreciating of the task or objectives of your organization. In a team-oriented surrounding, you augment to the complete triumph of the organization. You work with person components of the governing body to generate these results. Although, you have a definite job function and you owned by to a definite department, you unify with other governing body components to achieve the complete objectives. In order to become an effective team player, it is essential to identify what type of the team player you are.

This survey, “Team Player Style Survey,” assess which type of team player is an individual. It helps an individual to determine and identify his team player style. This survey is important for the employees of a corporate organization in which team building is a crucial part for reaching success. If an individual is not aware of his personal style, he/she will not be able to improve their weakness and strengths. The teams can use this survey to identify the role they play within their team and can they strengthen the team to make it more effective.

When I did this survey, I got the scores 50, 48, 48 and 40 respectively. This means that I am a contributor, collaborator and communicator. The highest score I got was for contributor. It means, according to the survey, that I am task oriented, and I contribute relevant data, facts, and information to the team. I also push ma team to achieve high performance standards. I am proficient, reliable, authoritative and responsible. I got the same result for collaborator and communicator which means that I am process oriented as well as goal oriented. I focus on the mission, values and goals of the team and am open to new ideas. I am also an effective listener, supportive, relaxed and flexible. The lowest score I got was for challenger. This means that I am not the type of team member who is question oriented. I do not challenge the ethics, goals and methods of the team or the higher authority.

The peer scores were almost the same, but, the highest score I got was for communicator, closely followed by a contributor and collaborator. Again, the lowest score I got was for the challenger. There was not much gap on the high scores for the three styles, but, my score was pretty low for the challenger. This means that I am not very outspoken about challenging and questioning the higher authority or the team's goals, missions and methods.
