Review of Literature

A team can be described as the collection of individuals who are focused on their identity and individual functioning within a territory. When the group of individuals feels secure in their identity and territory, team members move gradually towards their energy processes involving other members. They need to better communicate, try to alliances with one or two people becomes a concern's team members acquire a systemic vision. A team is therefore considered as a dynamic force, alive and moving on which is grafted people to accomplish a task. Determined team members share their goals, emit ideas, make decisions and work collectively. They are formed to work in groups, leading a team is based on listening and negotiation in a consensus for decision making (Hunter & MacDuffie, 2002). It gives affirmation to all the members of the team that they have common and shared goals and ideas. Moreover, team members are mostly oriented towards having communication between people, accountability and autonomy of each.

Sometimes, it has been observed that managing diversity in the teams is very critical and is considered quite crucial task for the managers or the organization. It refers to as balancing act. Diversity in the workforce can be associated with the delivery of innovative and fresh ideas on some of the specific problems or issues, but it is also a fact that unification of the teams is sometimes cumbersome. The strongest arguments for the work place teams diversity occurs when such teams dwell with huge troubleshooting odd jobs and decision making. Heterogeneous teams brings several different points for discussion and opinion for the analysis that is more likely to increase the possibility that the teams are oriented towards creating unique solutions for particular problems. The deficiency of shared and common perspective generally implies that teams are squandering the major part of their time in discussions, that ultimately reduces the probability that the decision taken or selected option is weak (Laurie& Frances, 1996). However, it should be remembered that the positive contribution that diversity makes undoubtedly declines over time. But this fact also cannot be overlooked that the teams which have diverse members face more difficulty in working together and solving issues.
