Tourism can play a vital role for international understanding and keeping peace in the world by developing social, cultural, economic as well as political understanding among the people of different nations and by way bringing diverse people face to face. Thus in the modern day world which is characterized by strikes, problems and misunderstanding, tourism can bring people together and promote harmony and understanding (Kakkar, 2003, p. 86). Tourism has been recognized as a significant factor in the economy of many nations. It is the biggest foreign exchange earner for India.
