Introducing Organization
Missouri Association for Social Welfare (MASW) is a social organization that came into existence in 1900 and since then aims at providing leadership, education, advocacy and research.
Purpose
MASW main purpose is to undertake research relating to social issues and participates in holding conferences and public, international forums. It additionally makes efforts towards building coalition in order to deal with social justice and plan activities in order to encourage it (www.masw.org, 2011).
Role as a member
I as a member of this organization am involved in all such activities. My role incorporates striving to create change with respect to the roots of social and economic injustice. In a short dealing with means, to alleviate the social standards and creating leaders that can bring constructive changes globally.
Discussion
Organization's culture and my opinion of this culture
The organization cultures that this organization adopts are called Market culture. The main features of this type of culture incorporate that they are results-oriented organizations. The concern of this culture is the implementation of the task. People are goal-oriented and compete to achieve their goals.
My opinion with regards to this culture is quite affirmative. This is so as this organization has been quite successful in achieving its goals even though they have to face a lot of hurdles in the way. (Robbins, Judge, 2007).
Organizational structures and my opinion of this structure
Organizational structures are composed of the parts that are organized and the processes of how these parts work together. The organization structure includes matrix structure whereby employees work in teams in order to gain make optimum use of each employee's skills and capabilities.
