Introduction

We are targeting a specific segment in the consumer and business market, taking advantage of advanced features which are tailored to the senior population. The Si-Phone will be easy to use and will have several distinct features addressed to seniors. It will provide an easier to understand solution to the complexities of modern day technology. Like most modern day smart phones, the Si-Phone will not easily break and will be guaranteed to resist everyday bumps and scrapes that would usually mean the death of any other phone.

The primary marketing objective will be to create a market for our Si-Phone with unit sales priced at $350 and focus on building customer usage. The primary financial objectives are to achieve first-year sales revenue of $ 4 million, keep first-year losses below $10 million, and break even during the second year.

“In direct competition with smart phones, the Si-Phone will offer a unique combination of advanced features, tailored to the needs of the senior population, at a value-added price.”

Problem Statement

Our team collected significant data, distinctive problems faced by the elderly in using the currently available portable phones. Based on our survey, and on the currently existing and commercially applied scientific research, we will design a superior product to be the best mobile device an elder person could demand. Because of our ongoing product improvements over time, our phone will never become out dated. It will have elegant big vibrated dials, and will be an easy to use portable device. Its basic features will include extra-loud sound controls which will be adjustable to hearing aids; GPS satellite control, resistance to water, dirt and accidental falls; it will have a medicine reminder and a heartbeat measurement mechanism with internet connectivity.

Purpose of the Study

In manufacturing and marketing a portable phone for citizens our purpose is to meet the particular elder's needs in a phone with easy to basic functions to which added options can be included.

Aims & Objectives

Design with special care to attract grandparents and elder individuals who already have or have a need to have a portable phone to be reached and connected at any time.

Satisfy the technological needs of the middle and the upper class senior citizens who are well established, working or retired and enjoying their retirement status.

The phone must have standard major features for ease of use

Allow the user to add incremental new applications and features when they get used to our phone and feel they can handle more complexity.
