Power and Politics

The power seen from the organizational behavior can be defined as the influence of one person to another that leads to a relationship of dependency, which is measured according to the dependency of a person to another and the importance given to their power (Russell & Stone, 2008). The power is closely related to leadership, since according to exert power within the group leader will depend on achieving the goals set by the organization (Radtke, 2007).

People react to organizational policy factors according to whether individual or organizational; there is also evidence that strong perception of politics bears a negative relationship with job satisfaction (Hubbard, 2009). This perception also increases anxiety and tension. To make matters worse this policy ends when the employee's performance wanes, having a devastating effect on individuals and reducing levels of performance. The policy and performance relationship is moderated by the realization that the individual has the how's and why's of organizational politics (Sendjaya & Sarros, 2006). This is linked to that, when there is a lot of politics and a lot of understanding, the performance increases because the individual sees the activities policies and opportunities, but when there is little understanding, people think that politics is a threat, which has a negative effect on their performance (Radtke, 2007).
