Research is the study to do deliberate search of knowledge or solutions to problems that may be of a cultural or scientific. It can also be the object of research is not confined to these areas but the technology, then, it will be called technological research, which will use the knowledge but applied science technology development soft or hard. Basically, the research is to follow a process that is systematic, because from the formulation of a hypothesis or approach the goal of work, a series of data collected according to a prearranged plan, which, after being analyzed and interpreted may modify or add new knowledge to existing ones (Freshwater, 2006).
Scientific method
Scientific method is a guiding the process of production of scientific knowledge, whether comments, experiences, reasoning, or theoretical calculations. It guides the process of production of scientific knowledge, whether comments, experiences, reasoning, or theoretical calculations.
Very often, it involves the implicit idea of its uniqueness, both among the general public as some researchers, who in addition sometimes confused with the hypothetical-deductive method.. The study of the practices of researchers, however, reveals a great diversity of scientific approaches that the idea of a unity of method has become very problematic.
Primary and secondary data
Secondary data is data going for purposes other than the purposes of the study. It can be obtained quickly and inexpensively. For example, when implementing the above-mentioned draft Selection department "secondary data about the criteria that customers are guided in choosing a department store, taken from journals (Journal of Retailing, Journal of Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science and Journal of Marketing Research). At the beginning of this section are a few examples of sources of secondary data (Webster's , 1950). Differences between primary and secondary data clearly presented in Table. 1. Compared with primary secondary information is collected fairly easily and quickly, while financial and costs are negligible.
External primary data obtained by directly querying the target consumer and this collection process is called "market research", "investigation" or "poll". The manager may collect the data itself or entrust the search to a specialized firm. The project is therefore to collect data relevant to the problem defined before, to perform the analysis of these data and interpret them so that they enhance decision-making.
The decision to use the external primary data collection should always consider the value ...
