Research Proposal

The purpose of this study is to find out the importance of Motivation in the individual and professional lives of an individual. In today's busy life, it is becoming very difficult for employees and employers to manage the problem of motivation. Hence, the purpose of the study is to find out the factors that could motivate an individual towards his or her work. For employer's point of view, it is also important to know the factors that could enhance the motivation of an individual. The significance of these concepts led us to analyze this topic so the study can help managers solve the issue.

I have been associated with a renowned financial institution for last three years and the problem of lack of motivation is very common in the organization. This problem was a significant factor leading to my study on this topic. This problem not only pertains to my financial institution but it is a general problem. This is because employers want to get the maximum out of the employee, while employee is not mentally and physically equipped to deal with such problem. An individual require a comfort zone which keeps the individual motivated towards work. However, the extent of work may not allow such a thing to happen for an employee (Rogenia, G, 2008).

Moreover, external factors are also important to consider when analyzing motivation at work. Employees are sometimes not satisfied with their salary package and overall working environment of the workplace, which creates severe issues for the employees. It is also important for the employer that only monetary benefits are not adequate to keep the employee motivated towards work. There could be a number of other factors that could create issues for the employee.

For the purpose of the study, I have spent considerate time in analyzing the factors that could motivate an individual. I conducting a study by reviewing the issues in my own organization and also consulted other friends who are working in other organization about the concept of motivation. It gave me real time experience of things happening around workplace. Moreover, the main focus of the study was research papers written on this topic. It required a thorough study of secondary data, which I retrieved from various sources in order to reach any conclusion.
