RENEWABLE ENERGY GENERATION

Renewable energy generation in Scotland

Renewable energy generation in Scotland

Introduction

Renewable energy is continues and inexhaustible on a human scale which is significant for the environmental advantages of non-gas emissions as pollutants from the combustion of fossil fuels responsible for global warming (CO2) and acid rain (SO2 and NOS) and non-hazardous waste generation difficult treatment and for generations posed a threat to the environment and radioactive waste associated with the use of nuclear energy.

Other noted benefits of renewable energy is its contribution to regional balance, and can be installed in rural and remote areas, and reduced dependence on external supplies, and that renewable are indigenous, while fossil fuels only found in a limited number of countries.

•The sun is the source of all renewable energy

•Earth causes the pressure differences that give rise to winds, wind energy source.

•Order the water cycle, evaporation causes leading to the formation of clouds and thus rainfall, source of hydropower.

•Plant serves for life and growth: a source of biomass.

Wind Energy

Wind energy is derived from the differential heating of the atmosphere by the sun and the earth's surface irregularities. Although only a small fraction of solar energy reaching the earth is converted into kinetic energy of wind, the total amount is huge.

With the help of the wind generator can convert wind power into electricity. They have very different applications and can meet demands of low.

Solar Energy

Solar energy is based on the solar power which produces energy directly from heat of the sun or we can convert into electricity. (Makeower, 2009, Pg # 86)

Through heat, thermal solar energy is the use of radiation from the sun, to produce hot water for domestic or industrial heating swimming pools, heating our homes, hotels, schools, factories, etc.

Hydropower

Hydropower has its origin in the "water cycle", generated by the Sun, by evaporating water from the seas, lakes, etc. These waterfalls are generated by rain and snow on Earth and return to the sea, where the cycle restarts.

Hydropower is derived from the potential energy associated with waterfalls and the height difference between two points in a river.

Optimum Fraction of Renewable Energy

The optimum fraction of renewable energy in Scotland is based on the total installed capacity of photovoltaic power plants in the world. This will increase from 1,210 MW in 2005 up to 3 MW in 2010 which corresponds to 22% average annual growth. Highly and low-enriched uranium from the former nuclear research center GDR will be exported to United States for reprocessing and storage. Federal Office for Radiation Safety of United States issued a permit for such operation. It is about 200 kg highly, and 100 kg low-enriched uranium, which is stored in a nuclear research center in the eastern Scotland city. Minister of Science believes that a return to uranium, for reprocessing of radioactive materials from Scotland is done to avoid the cost of their solid secure storage. These costs amount to 1 million Euros a year.

According to the news sources, radioactive materials will be delivered in 18 special containers at the ...
