Sustainable Energy

Introduction

The energy needs of the world and the people are growing at a blistering pace. As a result of the increased energy demand of energy, man is depleting the sources of energy. The solution to keep the energy flow meet the requirements of the world and to save the sources of energy from getting depleted, sustainable energy is the only option available to mankind right now. Sustainable energy is the energy which is capable of meeting the present needs of mankind, without compromising the capability of meeting the future needs. These energy sources are capable of generating enough energy for this generation, as well as, equally capable of generating energy at the same rate, for the future generations. Sustainable energy resources are also called the renewable sources of energy (Evans 2007). These include wind energy, wave power, tidal power, hydroelectricity, geothermal energy, bio energy and solar energy. He world of today needs a large amount of sources of renewable energy. There are many new technologies which are helping the man in preserving the energy sources for the future generations of the world. These technologies are helping man in preserving the earth and in the drive of going green. This assignment is about the feasibility plan on the option of sustainable energy available in large post-second world war residential development refurbishment in the coastal town in north west of England. The following papers will also throw light on the scientific possibility and feasibility of such a plan, as well as the technical feasibility of getting involved in such a plan of sustainable energy development.

Discussion

All around the world, renewable and sustainable energy sources are being use. A lot of brilliant minds have devoted their lives in finding out the energy resources which do not affect the ozone layer. They have also been working hard to find the energy resources which are renewable and economically feasible at the same point. A survey was conducted in a coastal town in north west of England, to know the perception of the residents about the introduction of sustainable energy in their area. The survey shows that all the people agreed that the introduction of sustainable energy is beneficial for them, as well as, for their future generations. There were also specific concerns in making sustainable energy the main source of energy. More than half of the people included in the survey believed that although the resources of sustainable energy are limited. Yet the innovations and developments in technology can help in the production of the required amount of energy in the area (John 2010). Some of the people also believed that the human population is growing at a much faster pace than are the resources of sustainable energy. They believe that the reserves if natural energy are not capable of meeting the growing needs of the common people, and will also not be able to meet the needs of the future generations. They believe that the demand for energy is much greater ...
