Introduction

For the purpose of understanding and comprehending the whereabouts of social practices that are involved in the rehabilitation of people who are suffering from drug and substance abuse. This paper shall highlight the key factors that are involved in the recovery and revival of addicts and people diagnosed with problems of heroin, cocaine and other substance and try to entail the steps involved in the area of drug addiction rehabilitation.

Defining Reflective Practice

Reflective Practice has been a new concept, inducted and inculcated in the organization, who shall pave way for the purpose and objective of creating a more reflective avenue of understanding the prevalent practice that occur and rise in the area of nursing and the healing process. For understanding, one of the most effective and outstanding examples that have been set and discussed are those brought forth by Donald Schon and David Kolb, who have contributed strongly revolutionizing the area of learning and development, utilized in almost all the major areas (Swadi, 2000, pp.201).

Work delivered and brought forth by Schon and Kolb has opened up a whole new avenue to understanding and pondering over the current practices prevalent in the organization and at the same time creating more platforms and areas that require further research and exploration. This has given reflective practice currency in recent years, using and applying a basic principle of reflecting on experience to improve action and professional practice.

Reflective Practice is defined as the ability to reflect and recall a specific action undertaken and performed by a person alone and pertaining to analyze the action so as to slot into a constant and recurring process. The basic motive of undertaking this practice is to undertake the best and most effective measures and try to weigh the pros and cons of any action or step that has been undertaken (Trevithick, 2008, pp.16). Here, since we shall be discussing the area of social work, it is wise to reflect and draw upon the attempts and endeavours that have been undertaken in the light of social work and at the same time providing recommendations on effective methods that could be undertaken for better comprehension of social events.

Need Process

The need process implies a defined and unanimously agreed upon system or design, which is being undertaken by people for assisting the needs and wants of different people with the level of funds that are being delivered (Trevithick, 2008, pp.16). One must know that it is not necessary that the kind of system discussed cannot be amended; minor, major or complete transformations of the process can be undertaken, keeping in line the need of the hour and the need of the people that are involved in the change process.
