Race and Community

Introduction

Growing up I was not ever so immersed in heritage diversity. My community was a white community. Until I made my first of numerous proceeds, to a town, Carrollton, Texas when I was 8, there I glimpsed various communities. There were numerous peoples of distinct rush, skin color, heritage, belief, dialect, and ethnicity. All my knowledge and attitudes on heritage diversity are drawn from that time. The heritage frightening was great. I knew that not every individual was the identical but I had not ever dwelled amidst persons who did not share my culture, heritage, belief, skin color, or race.

Do members of your community look like you?

There are some members of my community who look like me share my rush, belief and culture; although there are those who manage not. Some are distinct rushes and distinct skin tones. Many manage not talk the identical dialect as me. Still other ones manage not have the identical devout beliefs. I would state the most of them manage not share my rush, hue, belief, or culture.

How do leaders within your community treat people who are like you and who are different?

There are differences between some people in the way of the amount of money people make. They do treat people of low income different. I am not a high class person the money I have, I have made and worked hard for. The people that their parents have supported and not ever worked for their money treat you like your nothing.

The leaders in the community treat them like they don't belong, I have seen them be arrested when they have done nothing wrong and for no apparent reason, there was one I can remember that happened in my town about five years ago. There was a young man about 17 years old that was murdered by seven other. He was drowned by the boys as they made the girl watch them do it. When it went to court the judge basically said that because the girl said they seen nothing that they could not prove the case, after it was all said and done the truth did come out but it was too late and there was nothing ever done with the case. When everyone that was there started talking about it, the girlfriend to the boy that was killed said it all started as a joke and just exploded from there and they pushed him off the bridge and then the boys on the ground held him under the water. If you ask me the kids involved should have all been tried in the case. (Kunen, 2004)

How do other members of your community treat people who are like you and who are different?

The community that I live in is very racial and it is not fair for the people that live in the town I do. We have had many different people move to our town and they have been ran off because they ...
