Ralph Ellison's Battle Royal on symbolism of racism

Introduction

The name of the first chapter from Ralph Ellison's novel “The Invisible Man” is “Battle Royal". The novel was published in 1952 where as the first chapter was first published in 1947 in English Literary “Horizon”. The name "Battle Royal" has been adopted by the following compilations to put forward a different story than the novel of similar name.
