In honour of the University's late benefactor, the Michael Williams Committee has been instructed to provide up to $1 million to fund a project or projects designed to enhance some aspect of campus life at the University of Victoria. These projects can focus on improving any facet of campus life: facilities, services, buildings, developments, environment, grounds, overall management, or sustainability. (Grendler, 2004) The key goal of the project should be to add some significant benefit to the university community in terms of learning, research, sports, accommodation, recreation, safety and security, or any other university-related programs or activities.
