Product design

It's the process of generating and developing the most efficient and effective notions in order to bring in new products. It's basically a part of product development. The job of product designers is to amalgamate arts, science and technology for evaluating notions and then transmute those notions into tangible products but in the systematic way, the digital tools help the designers to perform their role which allows them to communicate, visualize and analyze notions.

It requires various methodologies that require particular skill for completing the initial stage. There are three stages in the process of product design which requires collaboration and coordination of the team of people. The initial stage includes idea generation, need based generation, the mid stage includes design solutions, production and the final stage includes marketing.

Product Development context

It is the process of bringing new product and service to its final destination (market).It includes the following procedure, it consists two parts the first part includes idea generation, product design and detail engineering. The other part consists of market research and market analysis. Here in idea generation for a new product can be done by using SWOT analysis and many other methods in order to get insights of new product lines and features of the product. After generating the idea the idea screening is being done, several questions are being reviewed here like about target market, size and growth prospects of target market, current/expected competitive pressure, market trends and industry sales, technicalities and profitability. In concept development testing it includes marketing and engineering details, then comes the analysis of the business by seeing and working out the sales volume, price, breakeven and profitability.
