Professional Goals

My main aim is to form a concrete basis for my study of Leadership and Organizational Change. I hope to coincide academic learning with professional experience. The application areas of the coursework and proposed research are wide enough to justify its application in various fields. The primary areas of application are human resource, organizational development and public and private agencies. To achieve the above mentioned objectives, I offer this detailed Plan Of Study (POS) that focuses on the core and specialized Knowledge Area Modules (KAMs).

In other words, the PDP, or Professional Development Plan, is really your strategic plan for completion of the Walden program. Each doctoral student must write one as part of the first year program. The plan is placed on file at Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) after approval by your program director. You can change your PDP by filing an amendment; changes are often discussed between a faculty mentor and student only (Bar-Haim, 2002)

Plan of Study

Foundation Course:

The foundation course is AMDS 8008, which is mandatory for all doctoral candidates. The course serves as an introduction to the whole process and serves as a guideline for all the forthcoming courses. This course is about developing a plan of study and the selection of Knowledge Area Modules (KAMs). Professional development plan is also discussed in accordance. This plan is very important as it offers a direction of professional growth. (Stern, 2008)

Core Knowledge Area Modules

“Knowledge Area Module I”: This KAM (Principles of Social Change) deals with the various theories of social and professional behavior. The students use the theoretical knowledge to build up their perspectives in specific areas of their interest.
