The real existence of God as Supreme, Beginning and End of man and the universe created and essentially different from the creatures, can be known with certainty by the real reason, because human intelligence has a natural ability to rise to knowledge of his Creator. Many patristic theologians have developed a variety of arguments that demonstrate the existence of God. This is because the proposition 'God exists', from the point of view of human knowledge, is a proposition mediate need of rational demonstration, but such a proposition is itself immediate reference to be absolute and groundless (Barfield, 1997).

It is as if God is playing hide and seek with us and waiting to discover the One in all. The image of God in which we were created has been damaged by sin.
