Case Study

In the course of our lives, we humans are faced with an infinite number of decisions, problems and challenges. Despite statistics that tell us of the emotional and behavioral problems of individuals, most people, most of the time, is able to decide properly resolve their problems and overcome challenges (Clarke 2010). One of the most important psychologies is to understand how humans adapt and manage to overcome their daily challenges.

The current stage of my life is the stage of a youth life where the person is between 20 to 25 years of age. At this point of time, I am studying for my Bachelors; however, people at this stage have varied characteristics depending on factors such as climate, heritage, health, social class, and cultural level. In youth the individual is quieter compared to what was in his teens, but has not yet reached the equilibrium that is characteristic of adulthood. This is the best time for intellectual learning, thinking it has managed to curb the excesses of the imagination and is able to address reality objectively, i.e., as this is grasp.

The two development theories that may focus at this stage of life are discussed below. These theories support the current achievements of my life. The theories are social cognitive theory and self-efficacy.

Development Theories

The Social Cognitive Theory defines behavior as a "dynamic triad" in interaction and interplay of personal factors, behavior and environment. Here are the cognitive processes that are the primary mediators of behavior, so the consequences of the response are used to shape the future treatment of behavior and this behavior even before being hired. In addition, the SCT stated that most behaviors are learned by imitation (vicarious learning). The following principles represent the association of my life with the theory of cognitive theory (Jeremy 2009).

Principle 1: The result of the response (such as a reward or punishment) influences the probability of reproducing the same behavior in a given situation also shared by the principle of behaviorism. The principle is true as in my case; I have always been influenced by positive reinforcement by different people that have encouraged me to do that work again in the future.

Principle 2: Human beings learn by observation and imitation, in addition, they can learn by participating personally in this learning. We give the name of vicarious learning to this type of behavior. I learn by my observations in my surroundings that help me to not only learn new behavior, but practice it in the future if it has some positivity.

Principle 3: People tend to model their behavior watching some other which they can identify and this identification is done according to assess the level of similarity that a person has toward another, and the level of attachment linking that person to another.
