For this purpose, three articles have been taken in order to identify the importance of nursing and it association in America. The first article refers to the American Nurse Association, which discusses how experts in the nursing industry are putting in efforts through planning and promoting care activities by indulging care through advance practices. In the first article the promotion and planning of care from advance directives is linked to the patient's health care proxies and living wills, more commonly known as euthanasia (Stierle, 2009). The article discusses how the American Nurse Association ANA is making attempts in planning and promoting the nurses and nursing activities in the country. The efforts by the ANA are access to promoting the safe practices related to nursing and patient care to be error free.
The second article refers to the pros and cons of assisted dying where two nurses who represent expertise in healthcare law and ethics differ in their opinions regarding assisted dying. Karen Sanders who is the senior lecturer in the healthcare law and ethics represented favoring assisted dying. The article revealed another thought by Maura Buchanan who is a healthcare adviser; Maura suggested that the legislated assisted dying is not a good practice due to the reason that assisted dying is always supported by influence to the terminally ill patients (Nursing Older People, 2011). Moreover, Maura focused that the nurses should take action against the proposed legislation.
The third article again relates to the nursing practices positioned by the Canadian Medical Association in regards to the assisted suicide and euthanasia. The article demonstrates codes for euthanasia designed by the CMA, the codes developed by the CMA are statements that help the physicians in regards to the euthanasia and assisted dying. Moreover, the CMA believes that the codes are designed in such a manner that they represent the best possible solution in respect to the patients will and interest of the Canadians (Canadian Medical Association, 2007).
