Introduction

Mental health is a concept that aims to create stable living conditions and environments that enable individuals to maintain a normal lifestyle and share in the benefits of the state. These efforts include measures to increase the chances of more people living a normal health life with full mental well being and stability (Donahue 2010).

This essay will address professional, issues and transition to practice, dealing with stress, burnout and bullying; Clinical decision making and critical thinking in critical care environments and advanced communication/negotiation skills for inter professional relationships in adult mental health practices. In addition, past researches will be discussed in the context of maintaining professional standards to ensure quality care for their clients and caring for self and their peers.

2A. REFLECTION

Professional, Issues and Transition to Practice

Claire is 65 years old lady who is living in the North-West of England. She was divorced due to some issues in her family life. She used to live with her mother. She had been suffering mental illness after the death of her mother six months ago. Claire has been diagnosed of Major depressive Disorder which she believes was caused due to her mother's death. She had been tearful at times, has sleepless night, has lost weight and feels guilty. She wanted to live in complete isolation and did nothing except remembering her mother and mourning her absence.

There were various issues and transitions that needed to be practised in her case such as addressing the national priority localities of her smoking, alcohol and substance misuse, and obesity, and promoting workout and sexual health. It was discovered that Claire was missing her childhood friend Mary; Claire stated that she felt isolated and lonely. Claire was the only member left in her family after the death of her mother died six months ago due to an illness, and she has no contact with her father who left when she was a little girl. Claire had lost contact with her best friend Mary who moved to London a year ago.

Dealing with Stress, Burnout and Bullying;

In order to deal with stress, burnout and bullying, nurses play a significant role. It can be said that nurses deal with adults who suffer from mental illness. A nurse can be classified as a psychiatric nurse on the basis of the role of the patient as compared to the location of a patient. It also can be assessed by the fact that the patient is suffering from some mental illness (Osborn 2001).
