Introduction

The main purpose of this paper is to make discussion on the impact of nanotechnology on cosmetics. The main purpose of nano-technologies is to manipulate the atoms and molecules scaling. Most of the people think that nano is and object, in real is just a term. Nano refers to the scaling unlike biotechnology that refers to the life manipulation.

Discussion

The neon-technology has been increasing worldwide in the filed of science and technology, and with the passage of time people are realizing its importance. The main industry with the heavy applications of nano-technology is the cosmetic industry, that have a high usage of nano-technology in its products. The cosmetic products have primarily driven by innovations, so that they can maintain their own presence with strange claims always in the consumer market. There are many products having the nano-technology in it, and these products have been officially launched in the markets. The main example of such products is anti-aging creams, sunscreens and moisturizers. As compared to other sectors, the influence of nano-technology is more in the cosmetic and persona care markets, products and firms (Unknown, 2010)

. Every picture has two sides, positive or negative. The positive side of nano-technology refers to its increased usage in the industries mainly in the cosmetics industry. On the other hand, the negative side of nano-technology refers to the side effects of the technology on the health and safety. Both the aspects got addressed by using a variety of data sources, primary sources like trade publications, web sites, secondary sources of related literature and business directories (Sovan, 2011). The Cosmetic and Personal Care Products are one of the fast moving goods in the market with high demand. Recently there were around 150 products in these sectors which apply nanotechnology as listed online (out of 800 total products) as per the study done by the Project on Emerging Nanotechnologies (PEN) at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. This is the largest number of products for any listed sector, and serves as an indicator of how important this sector (or sub-sector) as an arena of early commercialization of the activity related to Nanotechnology. The concept of nanotechnology is not new, when it comes to the cosmetics and health care sector there were some facts which clearly prove that the application of nanotechnology in this sector goes 40 years back. Nanotechnology has applied in the fields of cosmetic and health care products for a long time in the preparation of moisturizing creams using liposomes (Reddy, 2008).

In its exploration of the phenomenon of Nanotechnology, trends and strategies when it comes to the cosmetic and personal care products market, the thesis should investigate the need behind the application of this technology in the cosmetics, various uses and applications, and why & how it has applied in this industry (Nasir, 2008).
