The film is controversial mainly because of its comparison between the treatment of animals in slaughterhouses and the Holocaust. The purpose is also considered by generalizing too, speaking of farming as if it corresponded to the entire industry. For others, especially vegetarians and vegans, this film is the best documentary ever made ??on the subject (Bekoff, 90).

The film describes the uses that humans made of animals, obtaining materials to produce clothing and more, using them as entertainment and using them for scientific experimentation. This story is developed from the point of view of Isa; the concept of "Isa" is presented at the beginning of the film, in relation to the terms “racism" and "sexism".
