Introduction

Lawrence of Arabia is a 1962 British film based on the life of T. E. Lawrence. It was directed by David Lean and produced by Sam Spiegel through his British company, Horizon Pictures, with the screenplay by Robert Bolt and Michael Wilson. The film portLawrence of Arabias the involvement of Lawrence in Arab National Council and his experience in Arabia during the first world war especially his assaults on Damascus and Aqaba. The theme of the movies reflects the personal emotions of Lawrences towards the violence in the war and how he struggle while pursing his emotions. The film shows the personal identity of Lawrence, his separated commitment towards Britain and the troops and towards his new comrades in the tribes of Arab. (Steele, 2007)

Discussion and Analysis

Lawrences during the first world war was not a notable British Armey lieutenant but stationed in Cairo only for his knowledge regarding the Arab Tribes in particular Bedouin. He is sent to Arab Bureau for assessing views of Prince Faisal (Alec Guinness) in his revolt against the Turks, because of the objection of General MurLawrence of Arabia (Donald Wolfit). During his trip, his guide who was a Bedouin has been killed by Sherif Ali (Omar Sharif) for drinking from his well without obtaining permission. (Steele, 2007) He has been order to remain quiet and finish his survey, by Colonel Brighton (Anthony Quayle). However, Lawrence ignored the disobey the order when he meets Prince Faisal. Lawrence of Arabia is TE Lawrence, first an ordinary British officer in the field office of the British army in Cairo, at the time of the wars in Arabia at the beginning of the 20th Century. He was interested in the Arab world, mentality, lifestyle and history, he gets his capacious break when he became assistant to the desert in a camp and sent like an observer. There he met Ali, servant of Prince Feisal, where he also witnesses a first clash between the conflicting British and Arab (tribal) interests.
