Learning involves participation of teacher through interaction, because learning is like developing ability that needs to be promoted through different practices. Success of immersion education has been documented in various parts of the world for over 40 years, especially in the Western education system where typologically similar languages and writing systems are used. There are largely two ways of combining analytic and experiential teaching in a second/foreign language learning environment: “(1) one in which an analytic strategy is dominant and the experiential is in a supporting role, and (2) another in which the experiential is dominant and the analytic is supportive”. This empirical evidence supports the incorporation of focus on language form (i.e., analytical language teaching) in experientially dominant immersion classrooms in order to foster students' overall target language proficiency. Although both French and Japanese immersion classrooms were generally experiential and theme-oriented in nature, the teachers in the Japanese immersion classrooms incorporated more choral repetition and production practice in isolation than the French immersion teachers, which led to an emphasis on the accuracy of language form.
