Introduction
Middle Ages in the history of the Europe comprises of the period which dates back to the time, form 5th to 15th century. This period saw many changes, which immensely persuaded the context of the history. Many events adopted the changes that took place in this time such as the fall of the Western Roman Empire in 476 and counted as the period which laid the foundation for a period which history remembers as the Early Modern Era (John, 2010). However, the Middle ages itself is a concept which first surfaced in the fifteen century and holds the view that this path led towards the destination which proved to be a deviation from the path of classical learning. History also remembers the middle ages by the term known as 'Medieval'.
Rise of Christianity
The period, marked, by the history as the middle ages saw the rise of Christianity as a religion. The Rise in the context hare translates to the fact that Christianity spread because of its ole on the daily lives of the people. As the period, known as Dark Ages ended the need of restricting oneself with faith and religions started to grew. Catered by the Christianity it continues to rose until the Black Death hit the mankind (John, 2010).
Crusades & Reasons for failure
Crusade is a term used to remember the wars which was purely religiously motivated, hence exalted under the instructions of the pope and the Catholic Church. Crusades fought with the intention of gaining back the places near Jerusalem, considered holy in Christianity (Riley,1998). At that time, those places were under the rule of Muslims so, as a result, a series of wars launched to acquire the holy land back from the Muslims, as per the Christians point of view. Initially crusades were to call for help from the authorities which represented the Byzantine Empire against the Muslims expansions in the areas of Anatolia. This move was to restrict the Muslim expansion due to reason that the Turks under which Muslim areas were expanding had curtailed the entrance into Jerusalem(John, 2010). Crusaders constituted of the military units from the entire Western Europe and eastern Europe which were not united under the single command which led to many evils as far the successes of the crusades were concerned. However, the major strings of the crusades fought in the period between 1095 to 1291Otherthan the major series of the crusades many smaller crusades have also influenced the course of history.
However, after the early success which crusades saw the rests followed defeat. Many experts cite different reasons for the failures which took the crusaders into the jaws of defeat (Robinson,1984).However, Some of the most agreed reasons include the incapacity of both extremes of Europe, which is western, and Eastern Europe to co-operate with each other during the religiously motivated wars, which provided the opportunity for the Muslims to creep ...
