Thomas Morley was as accomplished an entrepreneur and professional as he was a composer. He was born in Norwich in 1557 or 1558, the child of a brewer, and likely obtained his soonest melodious learning as a chorister at Norwich Cathedral. He became organist of the cathedral in 1583, and, with Inglott, expert of the Choristers.
