Based on Greek mythology, Metamorphosis of Narcissus (1937) portrays Narcissus falling in love with his own image in the water and was transformed into a flower by gods. The left side of the painting has an image of his reflection in a pool. Whereas on the right side, is a hand which mimics Narcissus' body. The hand symbolizes the hand of the water, to raise its reflection, possibly representing human ego.
