Thesis Statement

The Metamorphosis is a controlling and ironic condemnation of the bourgeois condition. Over the past few decades, the term Kafkaesque has been tossed around with a dangerous lack of discretion. Gregor Samsa awakes one forenoon in his family's luxury suite to find himself inexplicably changed overnight into a gigantic insect. Gregor does not directly recoil from his bug pattern, but rather than selects to lament the rainfall and general misery of the climate outside.
