This perception comes from years of coverage of its negative effects and a lack of research about the possible health and economic benefits. The debate over the legalization of marijuana is of an unbalanced nature because of the fact that the sides favoring and opposing the legalization of marijuana are not able to address the debate over the same issues. As each side presents an argument, the debate continues to evolve without converging towards a conclusion.

With the legalization of marijuana, a part of the business of drug trafficking will end, as it will become more accessible and without any legal problem. In case of its legalization, one can produce large scale market with profits for the states. The legalization of marijuana would have the advantages that we can totally imagine, greater product quality, as this would not be adulterated because will go through certain health checks, a much lower cost, because there would be various intermediaries. It would also put an end to the black market and drug trafficking networks. The main economic benefit from the legalization of marijuana cultivation is that consumers could, once the product is freely sold, benefit from advanced technology that provides mass production. It is obvious that free culture would allow producers to invest in improving the product and its manufacture (Fish, 2006).
