The management of people
For any organization, human capital is the most valuable asset. It is the competitive edge that cannot be copied and therefore, create and retain success for an organization. Human capital is the asset that builds and sustains success of any organization. However, it takes skills and strategies to sustain a highly motivated and productive workforce. It is essential for any firm to manage its human capital in the most effective manner since organizations are not run through machines but people. The services sector has an even bigger concept of people management, since they emtirely deliver themselves through their staff, and customers respond as well as, grade the particular hotel or other services organizations through the service quality they provide (CEO Nestle, pp. 4-6).
Significance of people management
Managing people in an organization or a hotel has been an older concept. People from ancient ages, have been implementing strategies to motivate their followers. People in old ages tended to do favorable actions towards their followers, as well as, they showed higher regard for people who have similar values and goals as them. These ancient tactics evolved from time to time, and even today, they are found in organizations with respect to several people management aspects. People in different organizations are treated in certain strategic manner that is outlined by these old concepts and ancient theories. The foundation of human capital management is attributed to the innate human need love and regard by others and it is always applicable in business scenarios (Darr, pp. 2-5).

Fayol's principles of management
Henry Fayol was a French engineer in mining. He proposed a comprehensive theory pertaining to lower level staff in organizations in the year 1914. He proposed a 14 principle mandate for lower level employees (Wren et al, pp. 910-917).
