Introduction

This study tries to explore the end users' training of organizational data. In order to explore, interviews end-users of databases such as Oracle and Microsoft Access were conducted. Furthermore, identify the knowledge and skill essential for these databases that help in managing, accessing, query, and manipulating data. Common knowledge between end user and developers also demonstrated, and discusses their collaboration and communication that lead to potential relationship.

The End User

Management Information Systems (MIS) consist of software systems, business resources and processes that assist in gathering information from tactical or functional systems, and presented data in a timely means for managers and senior level so that they can take appropriate decisions. MIS facilitates in achieving strategic and tactical objectives of a company.

The importance of effective training makes sure successful end-user computing (EUC) has been highlighted by a number of researchers, particularly in the area of information systems. Evidence from the study in associated fields such as educational psychology put forward that individual differences like style of learning can affect learning of users about a new information system. Several studies examining the influence of learning style of a novice in learning typical MIS tools such as email and spreadsheets. A consistent pattern of results emerges that indicates that learning modes is an important predictor of learning outcomes, both by itself and in the interface with the training methods (Wang, Xu & Li, 2009; Blackmore, 1993; & Davidson, 2001).

End-users in firms faced difficulties because of lack in training. Organizations must find ways to make investment in information technology that facilitates corrective implementation to gain a competitive advantage and avoid mistakes. Eventually, the work is carried out by individuals. The more skills and knowledge individuals carry to their work, the more likely it will be carried out efficiently and effectively. New technology introduction in an organization creates a gap between the skills possessed by the individual and needed to make the most of new technology. Training is one approach to fill skill and knowledge gap (Kalkan & Keskin, 2007).

Discussion

Evaluate the Training of End-Users of Organizational Data

Ineffective end-user training is the main cause of failure in Oracle and Microsoft Access implementation. In short, if end-users are unable to use the system as currently designed, the system will not be able to process transactions, or the generation of meaningful reports (Huang, Huang, Wu & Lin, 2009).

The preparation of training courses such as document and manuals drafting - must take place during the mapping of business processes. This is the stage where the project teams to plan the evolution of your organization in its current state to future state. Therefore, need to plan how to change the status quo of end users. On the other hand, the training course will not be delivered until near the end of the project (Kalkan & Keskin, 2007).
