Introduction

For my life review, I interviewed a senior citizen of 74 who lives in Phoenix, Arizona where he was born and grew up. The purpose of this interview was to determine and review his life events and experience as well as his developmental history. The questions I asked him were relating to family, work, social life, transitions, lifestyle, etc. He was raised with two brothers and one sister in a small house, which was an ideal family size for him. He went to school where he studied for 12 years and finished two years diploma in electrical engineering. After his graduation, he started his career and performed multiple jobs ranging from an electrician to supervisor.

Life Transitions

He is married and has two children and has a very simple childhood. He spent his childhood in a low income family of six members living in a small house where every member was responsible for house hold chores. I was surprised to hear that his family used to celebrate every traditional day from birthday to Halloween and Christmas to Easter in a traditional way with many friends. He also revealed that today he feels himself alone and try to cope this situation by keeping himself busy in community activities as he looks at thing in a realistic manner. He does not consider himself as a senior. He enjoys life even at 72 as he used to enjoy it when he was 27. He has an optimistic view of life however; the impact of depression on Interviewee's life is not direct as it started shortly before he was born.
