Dependence of Public School on funds has been a major problem in Florida along with many of the other states in US. Considering Florida in specific, Principle of Freedom High School, Tampa called Dave Sheppard was interviewed and was asked about the current scenario. Q1. What is the current scenario of public and private school like with respect to the public policy?
He answered that greater emphasis has been placed on improving the education system by the US government that has led to increasing interest in the equity of education systems. Public education system in the United States focuses on providing education to all people irrespective of their gender, race, doctrine, disability, or family class. US education system has been divided into multilevel structure. Based on the principle structure of education system, four levels have been identified which include preschool (pre-school education), primary school (elementary education), secondary school (secondary education) and higher special professional (higher education) education. Policies for each level of education differ greatly in their extent tot effectively serve the need of education.
Q2. What kind of educational serices do both the types provide and what are their objectives?
Primary and secondary schools provide a broad range of educational services from specialized education to religious. Education content in these areas focuses on building self-discipline, and endow with sustainability of education structure through policies. Policy structure for education systems that are “equitable” provide high-quality education to all students by conforming to the US education policies for primary and secondary public education.
Main objectives of US Government's policy related to primary and secondary public educational schools are:
Provision of universal and free education to all children at primary and secondary education level
Providing full-time courses under the Vocational Training Council for Secondary level public education institutes
Offering alternative opportunity for secondary level education students who are unable to afford education expenses
