Leadership Vision

Introduction

Leadership vision is about leading the way, being out in front of people, showing them where to go and how to go there. It's about designing new ways to address problems. The problems may be general or job related. The vision is counted as an important element of leadership.

Leadership is a critical management skill that refers to the ability of a person to inspire and motivate group of people towards a common goal. If I am an inspiring, charismatic and authoritarian leader, I must possess qualities and traits such and must feel passionately about the vision and mission of the organization (Kickul, 2000). I provide an environment full of positive and energetic reinforcement. Being an inspirational leader I inspire change and innovation, and deal in abstract concepts, such as vision and mission (Smith, 1998).

It is the responsibility of a leader to help his subordinate and staff. In this regard, the first requirement is to have a clear vision about the task. If there is a clearly identified vision, then one can achieve the target in most convenient way. The vision should not be vague. It should clearly reflect the mission of a leader. After setting a clear vision, the leader has to identify several ways to reach the vision. The leader has to analyze the opportunities and threats related to the vision.

A leader has to clearly articulate about what he is doing and how he is going to achieve the target. Leaders have a vision. They share their dream and direction that people want to follow and share.
