There is no doubt that businesses today face difficult times. Those in leadership positions may face additional pressure to find support and guidance needed to keep their teams motivated and productive. When faced with a bleak economic outlook, (Wormer 2007) the dismissal of their colleagues and friends, increased competition and shrinking budgets. Let's look at some excerpts from Obama president of the inaugural speech and see how we can apply those lessons to the corporate leadership.

One of the first principles of leadership is an effective and authentic communication. There is no point in trying to whitewash the problem of your team or company faced. (James 2004) You will be much better leader if you understand what everyone knows to be true. Clear, specific and unemotionally that task, then move to a strategy that will be used to meet them. Do not dwell on problems. Give them the person and then move to the stage of decision. Your team will be assured and tension, with the possibility to participate actively in the decision.
