INTRODUCTION

The world of business changes according to many aspects that affect the business environment such as policies and regulations, micro and macroeconomic factors, customer behaviour and firm's management. Many of these factors faced Company (OD), which will be studied in this research as a case study to shed light on its external investments. Thus the proposed title of this research is:” Leadership and being an effective project manager”. The following section will discuss the main objects and events that have influenced on OD's business environment. In the case of OD, the company has proved since it was founded in 1998 that it is a profitable company and it has succeeded in growing rapidly. (Avolio 2007, p25) Furthermore, the telecom market is no longer monopolized by OD since it was opened for competition in 2005. This section aims to discuss these aspects of the business world related to OD's external growth.

For about a decade, OD has provided different telecom services for individuals and enterprises including landline and mobile phone service, Internet, high speed connections, and many other added value services. Therefore, OD is capable to expand its network to cover many neighbouring countries or to provide telecom services in new markets as a new licensed operator. Many telecom operators in the world provide their services in many countries which encourages OD to repeat the same exercise. However, it is worth to knowing that the telecom sector is very challenging as well as very attractive and many big operators face difficulties in their external growth, like the giant telecom operator Vodafone in Japan (Vodafone, 2006) or the Kuwaiti operator Zain in Africa, which should be considered carefully by OD top management. (Bass 2000, p12)

It manifests itself in the conduct of one's behavior and that of others to achieve goals. Depending on the level of strategic change required to implement a strategy that leaders may have to influence others inside and outside the OD. Leaders who avoid excessive allocation of resources to programs mature and recognize that new risks and require the investment of many resources. Help the leader to create a new informal OD to address any problems that occur. Good leaders make the informal OD to measure them conducive to good performance. Managers require specific skills tailored to overcome obstacles and ensure that tasks are fulfilled efficiently. These skills enable the leader to continually assess the implementation of the strategy and objectives set by the OD.

Those with what leaders pay attention to, measure and control, leaders can communicate their vision of the OD and what they want done most effectively by emphasizing continuously in a same topics in the meetings, comments and responses spontaneous and strategic discussions.
