The leadership test is only successful when the employees respond to the new changes and the reaction to the innovation is positive. Because these changes can be very difficult since one has to get away from the comfort zone and do the things in a different manner. It is a very crucial factor in making sure that the organizations and the individuals are capable of realizing their goals (Federer, 2012).

New vision/goals strategies
Verizon stands at the number one spots after it appeared in the top 10 for the last six yrs, even though it had quite a low budget for training purposes and the work process was delayed due to the expiring of the union agreement, but Verizon stood focus on its training and strategic goals and proved their capabilities that can be visible in the results. Verizon focused on huge training programs that could help in the advancements of the strategic goals of the business. Three major business goals for Verizon were: creating a company and a workforce as supportive as its networks, leading in formation of share holder value, get familiar as an iconic technology co.
New culture
Verizon created a culture for the leadership that could help the SHV that was one of the major training aims and objectives in the year 2011; this was sponsored by McAdam, CEO and also the new President. This program provided the higher leaders with frameworks, metrics and tools that would assist them evaluate their actions and decisions that affect the shareholder value. All of these sessions were led by the CEO and CFO and the first session was conveyed among the top 50 leaders of Verizon, it also discussed the company's stock prices for over 10 years. This session also helped in identifying the obstacles that came in the way and how to get over with it before even going through it. There are still many changes cross border and cross functional improvement programs that are on the way that includes: New capital allocating and budgeting process, new device life cycle management process, new voice of the shareholder measurement process and new process improvement/Lean Six Sigma curriculum and consulting.
During these sessions all the senior leaders have the opportunity to submit and individual accountability plan that they have in mind for the effectiveness of the company. These plans are related to the metrics or value drivers by which the analysts, political investors and shareholders judge the performance of the company (Freifeld, 2012).
