Introduction

Leadership refers to the trait of an individual who has the ability to lead. The term leadership can also be defined as an activity to influence people to voluntarily strive to achieve the objectives that can benefit both people of the group as well as the leader. A leader is said to be the person who engage people of similar interest and guide / lead them to acquire particular objective (s). Leaders are born not made was the myth that claims that leadership are God gifted skills which cannot be acquire, however Carmeli (2008) argue that every individual is born with the identical skills the only thing that matters is the realization of those skills. This paper will perform two tasks; one is the identification of my personal leadership skills from the perspective of a good leader. In the second task the change process in a selected organization will be discussed along with identifying what improvement the change has brought in any particular organization.

Task One:

The term leadership generates the idea of power, authority and leverage in mind. Often people believe that an effective leaders aid in accomplishing significant goals. It is believed of genuine persons who have been recognized for their leadership capabilities. Leadership can be characterized as the ability of a one-by-one to leverage the ideas, mind-set, and behavior of others. It is the method by which people are inspired to assist in the achievement of the common objectives. In order to evaluate my personal leadership skill, it is mandatory to discuss different variables covered by one single term leadership.

Leaders set directions for their followers and guide them to accomplish their set goals. Theorists have developed numerous distinct theories about leadership whereas no single theory absolutely interprets everything about leadership. Every theory has received some scientific support. Few theories are founded on the concept that there are “born leaders” with particular traits that assist to their ability to lead other. Although different school of thought proposes theories that leadership consists of exact abilities and behaviors.

Although, many theorist employee a contingency approach that proposes that a leader's effectiveness counts on the position requiring leadership. Still other theories analyze the relationship between the leader and his or her followers as the key to understanding leadership. In this section, we analyze these diverse theories and describe the method of leadership development, in order to explain my personal skill. (Zaccaro, Rittman & Marks, 2001)

Leader and Manager

Often these two terms are used interchangeably; however they both are completely different and are necessary to be discussed here, in order to prepare a concrete review so that my personal skills of leadership can be identified. It is crucial to differentiate these two commonly confusing term, because it would be unwise to produce recommendations even none of my skills reflects leadership but management.
