Introduction

Knowledge management (KM) today is counted among the growing trends of the modern world which is altering the structure of different organizations with varying level of intensity. Before analyzing the idea of knowledge management and its implications as the requirement of this paper, it is important to understand what knowledge management is all about. Knowledge management (KM) involves numerous strategies adopted by different organizations to extract the insights and experiences and then makes use of those experiences and insights to seek advantage in the market by presenting the desired options. It is a way through which firms or organizations tends to organize, share the existing knowledge and seeks the help of the employees to extract or develop new knowledge, which in the future can prove beneficial for the organization.

The Concept of Knowledge management tends to give the organizations a competitive edge over the competitors, since it challenges the organization ways of doing business as compared to the structure of the businesses in the world outside their office. Thus to compete in the global field Knowledge management equips the organizations with the tools to compete in the global arena. The adaptation of Knowledge management, tools provides a perpetual challenge to the Human Resource managers to accept the amplifying ole of technology. Thus, forcing the environment which tends to rest on the pillars of technology (Ashok 2010, p.372).

However, the advancing technology does not post threats to the organizations but also to the educational institutions. It tends to push them to the extent of adopting the new ways of operation, otherwise; the fear tends to mount on their minds that they will be left behind, and the world will move ahead. Not only is this the need of the educational institutions and organizations but also the demand of the employees, clients and students acting as stakeholders in the context of an organization and educational institutions. In the context, of this paper the authors tend to analyze the effective use of Knowledge Man agent in NTPC. This article is the output, of the vast research done by not one, but three authors who tends to share their experience and provides us with the path to lead, the way towards the ideals of Knowledge Management. Alok Kumar Goel is a B.E (Mech) but has vast knowledge in the field of knowledge management and is currently pursuing his doctorate in the field of Knowledge Management. He is of the view that Knowledge management can itself lay the foundations for the success of the companies thus it tends to incorporate the key insights (Fibuch 2011, p.34). Other than his vast knowledge of KM he had written numerous research papers which have claimed the success on national and international platforms.
