First of all, the hiring should be done through proper advertisement. This advertisement should contain the complete procedure of applying for the post, selection procedure, selection criteria, job description etc. After the advertisement has been published publically the recruitment and selection committee should strictly follow the selection procedure that is written in the published advertisement. Selection should be purely on the basis of merit and no discrimination on any basis should prevail in the recruitment procedure. If in case the company has hired someone who is not eligible for the post and who is not the best candidate for the job, the applicant has the right to file a case against such company. The court will help that particular candidate to get the stated job. The applicant has to present proof of his fitness or unfair treatment (Hollier, 2009).

Companies that are following ethical grounds of hiring and following ethical practices to recruit people are seen progressing in their business and industry. Ethical practices says that the candidate which has to be chosen should be the best candidate amongst all and there should be no discrimination made on the basis on age, gender, sex, religion or any other ground. Proper advertisement includes all the things which are necessary for an applicant to apply and get a said job. In case if there are any additional requirements or restrictions it should also be mentioned in the advertisement for the job (Anonymous, 2011).

The advertisement that is published publically should be easy to understand and clear from all kinds of ambiguity. Another thing which should be kept in mind while publishing a job advertisement is that the advertisement should not be confined to a particular ethnic group, color, race, language or any other thing which can be counted as discrimination by the applicant because this can bring serious damage to the equity of the organization along with law suits which can result in monetary loss or compensation. Proper details about the organization and job should be accessible to the applicants so that potential candidate can be attracted and hired (Hollier, 2009).

U.S. has a law with the name Federal Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Laws. This law prohibits the discrimination in employment on the basis of color, race, religion, national origin or sex.
