Introduction

JC's Casino is considered to be one of the most attractive casinos in the area of San Diego. The casino has plenty of services. Many of the government authorities have shown their faith in the working environment of JC's Casio as to be supportive and friendly. JC's casino has been providing equal opportunity in their working environment with paying their employees handsomely, some generous benefits along with dedication towards the advancement of their career. The management of JC has recently hired some independent consultants in order to help them in retaining their employees as this has been a great deal of problem for the management of JC's in past times. In this paper, some of the key issues will be highlighted that have resulted in this retention of organization. Some recommendations will also be made and new strategies of work motivations will be applied in order to help the management in their recruitment and retention process. Also some useful advices shall be made so that the management could more focus on the satisfaction of job within their employees and could reduce their activities that are counter product in nature and encourage the productive ones.

Discussion

The core problem that was identified in the JC's casino was related to the employee that was brought into the limelight by the reports provided by the human resource of the JC's management and from the directors of housekeeping. In both of these departments, a high level of retention rate was observed that showed the decrease within the workforce and also created a gap in-between the teams and the management. In order to find the actual cause, the consultants that were hired to resolve this issue started analyzing the exit interviews given by the employees who were leaving or had left the casino. The consultants also decided to interview more dealers and housekeepers in order to get a more reliable data. This analysis and conduction of interview proved to be useful as it provided the consultants with more information that caused the employees to leave. After the analysis, the consultants found out that the behavior of the floor pit boss, who was actually the stepson of the casino's original owner, was incompetent and a toxic team player. The behavior of the pit boss caused the dealers to feel as they are unsafe in their working environment and are tired to keep up with the misuse of his authority. While the housekeeper complained that they had to bear extreme workload and also had to do work for long hours due to the shortage of staff in this department. The housekeeping department also complained of suffering from high rate absenteeism from the employee's end that resulted in the shortage of staffing and high turnover rooms.
