Abstract
This proposal is mainly concerned with the study of evaluation of the impact of performance appraisal on organisations effectiveness in the IKEA company. IKEA is the world's most successful mass-market retailer, selling Scandinavian-style home furnishings and other house goods in 230 stores in 33 countries and hosting 410 million shoppers per year. Starting research from our problem statement we will proceed towards the literarature review and at the end of this proposal we will discuss about methodology of research in detail involving different research methods. This research proposal discusses in detail the background (literature review). Moreover, the objectives of the study and the research questions are presented. Here, vital concepts, questions and assumptions are stated. Finally, the scope and limitation of the study, overview of the methodology used, the significance of the research and definition of terms are discussed.

Chapter 1 INTRODUCTION
Statement of the problem
IKEA (Ingvar Kamprad Elmtaryd Agunnaryd) is a privately held, international home products retailer that sells flat pack furniture, accessories, and bathroom and kitchen items in their retail stores around the world. The company, which pioneered flat-pack design furniture at affordable prices, is now the world's largest furniture retailer. Now the problem statement to be discussed here is to measure the impact of performance appraisal on organisation's effectiveness in the IKEA company.
Purpose of the Study
Purpose of this will be to find out the methods and techniques used in the company as performance appraisal of the employees of the IKEA company. And furthur how this performance appraisal produces a positive impact on the company's development and production. In 1943, IKEA was founded by Ingvar Kamprad and in 1954, the company managed an asset of 15 co-workers and it bid the start of expansion including a number of furnishing for home, stores and companies. The success of the IKEA is explained through the relationship of the three ideas that are involved in the business - the entrepreneur, the business idea, and the company culture.
Significance of the study
No doubt is about the significance of the study. This study will show its effectiveness while becoming a role model for other companies in the development and giving the human resource a best performance evaluation system alongwith best compensation and benefits in comparison to other companies. From a small furnishing shop in 1943 to more than 140 stores around the world today, Kamprad at the age of 43 makes him one of the world's greatest entrepreneurs.
