Home Grown terrorism and Religious Fundamentalism in the West

Introduction

Terrorism never appears out of nothing, and it soon develops into small groups that had split from the larger movement of social protest. Currently terrorism is increasing rapidly in every part of the world. The analysis of "terrorism" can be defined as most succinctly non-state political violence in the Western world. Five years ago, the term Home-grown Terrorism was a little-known. People have started to use it after the explosions in the subway and on public transport in London. However the label of "home-grown terrorism" may be new, but the activity is not exactly new. As a result of terrorist attacks in the British capital July 7, 2005, 56 people were killed and more than 700 were injured. Explosions in trains in Madrid that killed 191 people also are written to the "home-grown terrorists (Rogers, 2010, 7)." The French Revolution clearly shows: for the most part, it has always been home-grown, who destroyed the country in the sense that the culprit turned out to persons born, grew up and became radicals in the country that had violence caused by internal factors.

Aim

The aim of this research proposal is to discuss the factors that will lead to conduct an investigative study of the problem. Homegrown terrorism and religious fundamentalism have been largely observed in the West in the present times.

Literature Review

Homegrown terrorism

The U.S. Law Code defines terrorism as "an act of premeditated violence and motivated politically, perpetrated against non-combatant targets by sub national groups or clandestine agents." Experts fail, however, to establish a harmonized definition: in fact, there are a myriad of definitions of terrorism since the phenomenon is complex and plural. Note that the notions of "action in order to cause terror 'and' asymmetric violence" appear frequently in the literature. Thus, the addition of the word "home" to this phenomenon underlies the idea of an internal threat, a threat that would come from citizens. "Home-grown Terrorism" can be defined as crime is committed by people in their own country. Home-grown terrorism is becoming more common and dangerous in various parts of the world. There was an increase in home-grown terrorism arrests in the late 2000s. U.S. officials announced that the group Al Qaeda in the Maghreb (AQIM) - Branch, based in North Africa, is primarily a criminal organization involved in kidnapping Westerners for ransom (Seiple, 1997, 19). The threat of home-grown terrorism is clearly related to security issues. But mostly they do intelligence and security services of states, not the military.
